Invite the bot

Ask whoever manages Updater for your server’s invite link. See Installation & Permissions for the exact scopes and channel permissions it needs.
2

Run /setchannel

Run /setchannel and pick a channel from the native channel picker, then hit Save. Updater checks its own permissions in that channel before accepting it — if it’s missing View Channel or Send Messages there, the panel tells you exactly what’s missing instead of failing silently later.Once it’s saved, hit Send Test to have Updater post a sample notification card into the channel. It isn’t a real release — just confirmation that delivery works end to end.

Choose which games to track

Nothing is tracked by default. Run /games to open the tracking panel, pick a category — Featured, Steam, Tactical, Battle Royale, or Other — and use the select menu to turn on the games you want, or use Enable All / Disable All for the whole category. Hit Save Changes before leaving a category; unsaved selections don’t stick.

What happens next

The first check after you enable a game just establishes a starting point — it won’t post anything for updates that already happened. You’ll see your first notification the next time one of your tracked games actually ships something new.

If something is not working

See Support for the most common causes — missing channel permissions, a channel that was never set, or games that were just enabled and haven’t had a fresh release yet.
